Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to the ElevateIP National Portal (the “Portal”), operated on behalf of the ElevateIP Delivery Partners who deliver ElevateIP, a federally funded initiative supported by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED). It governs how information is collected, used, and disclosed when you access or interact with this Portal. By using the Portal, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described herein.

ElevateIP Partners are committed to handling all personal and organizational information with care, discretion, and in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy legislation, including the Privacy Act and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information We Collect

Voluntarily Provided Information

When you interact with features of the Portal — such as selecting your province or territory, submitting an event, or reaching out via contact forms — you may provide information including:

• Company or organization name
• Province or territory of business registration
• Contact email address
• Event details submitted for calendar consideration

Automatically Collected Metadata

Like most web properties, the Portal may automatically collect certain technical metadata when you visit, including:

• Browser type and version
• Device type and operating system
• Pages visited and time spent on the Portal
• Referring URL
• Anonymized IP address
• A language preference cookie (ELEVATEIP_LOCALE) to remember your selected language between visits

You may configure your browser to decline cookies. Doing so will not impair access to the Portal’s core content.

Data Routing & Usage

Information submitted through the Portal is used solely to deliver the ElevateIP Partners programs’ national service mandate. Specifically:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Information is not used for commercial marketing purposes and will not be disclosed beyond the scope described in this Policy without your explicit consent, except as required by law.

Security

ElevateIP Partners take the security of your information seriously. We employ industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards, including:

• SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and the Portal
• Hosting on Vercel’s enterprise-grade, SOC 2-compliant infrastructure with automatic DDoS mitigation
• Role-based access controls limiting data access to authorized program personnel only
• Regular security reviews and dependency audits

While we implement robust safeguards, no method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to continuous improvement of our protective measures.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable law. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained for longer periods to support ongoing program evaluation by ISED.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in program operations, technology, or applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the Policy was last revised. Continued use of the Portal following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
